Wrong cost captured in inventory transaction effecting month closing

Hi Experts,
 
This error looks very strange and getting idea whether its Functional or its a bug. 
Issue with two items in the Movements Journal, where a high cost appears in the transactions for items 

we need to know from where this cost is captured and how to adjust the cost to right number

this is effecting month closing as it is creating wrong numbers.

    Hi,
     
    Please be sure one thing that cost amount displayed on movement journal during creation is not what it actually posts.
     
    Because when you do negative adjustment, system post as per valuation method selected, so after posting what is posted in inventory transaction is the true value.
     
    Now that value might after running recalculation based on corrections.
     
    Now your question will be on cost amount dispalyed on journal line: That is actually dispalyed eithr from release product manage cost tab or from active cost from manage cost in action pane

    Hi,

    Could you please review the transaction and setup in detail regarding the below -
    • Review the inventory valuation method (e.g., FIFO, Weighted Average, Moving Average) for the item.
    • Review whether the cost might have been incorrectly assigned while creating the movement journal.
    • Cost inherited from prior transactions, especially if inventory close hasn’t been run.
    • Item valuation can be affected if the cost adjustment was applied incorrectly.
    • Review their cost history from the transaction.
    • Ensure the correct costing method is applied in the Inventory Model group.

    Hi, 
    Can you see if the same cost appears in Item transaction window for the same item. 
     
    You would need to check the item transactions for this, also you need to tell which inventory model group are you using.
